Wenea and Gireve sign interoperability agreement to enhance coverage of the European electric vehicle charging network

  • Wenea, a service company for new electric vehicle customers, and Gireve, a B2B digital platform for electric charging, have reached an interoperability agreement in the European territory.
  • Thanks to this agreement, electric vehicle customers will have access to 165,000 new charging points through the Wenea app.
  • This alliance strengthens Wenea’s goal of facilitating the transition to electric mobility by improving the coverage of services available to its customers through its platform.

Madrid, 21st February 2022.Wenea, a service company for new electric vehicle customers, has reached an interoperability agreement with the Gireve roaming platform to interconnect all publicly accessible charging stations.

Through this agreement, Wenea expands its European coverage by providing its customers with new fast charging points that will be available for use through its app, which is available on all mobile devices via the iOS App Store and Android Play Store.

Wenea’s customers are mainly located in Europe and need charging points when they take long trips or arrive at their destination. With this new alliance, over 165,000 charging points will be open to roaming through Gireve and could be added to Wenea’s charging network.

“At Wenea, we want to facilitate the transition to electric mobility by creating an ultra-fast and accessible charging network for all customers within and beyond our borders. These interoperability agreements allow us to reaffirm our purpose by improving the coverage of services available to our customers through the Wenea app. Thanks to the agreement with Gireve, Wenea’s customers will have access to a large number of charging stations throughout the European territory from our platform,” said Alberto Cantero, CEO of Wenea.

“We have seen exponential growth in roaming charging sessions last year. The increase in electric vehicles and charging points in Europe has raised customer expectations, who demand a higher quality of service. We share this goal with Wenea and are pleased to join forces in this common objective of facilitating electric vehicle charging. Our partnership is a significant step towards a better charging experience for electric vehicle drivers in Spain and, more broadly, in Europe,” said Mireia Delgado, Business Development Manager, Gireve.
