- The agreement represents a step further in enhancing the experience for electric vehicle customers in Spain, expanding the charging infrastructure in the country through the collaboration of both companies
Madrid, September 20, 2023. Wenea, a leading independent provider of electric vehicle charging services, announces the inclusion of Acciona Energía stations on its platform. This comes after the achievement of an electric mobility interoperability agreement aimed at strengthening and expanding the electric vehicle charging infrastructure in Spain. The agreement aims to provide electric vehicle charging services to customers of both platforms as Electric Mobility Service Providers (eMSPs).
Both Acciona Energía and Wenea have a prominent presence in the electric mobility sector, offering electric vehicle charging services through their own charging infrastructure networks, as well as in collaboration with affiliated and third-party charging point operators. Thanks to this agreement, customers will benefit from the expanded charging infrastructure, gaining access to both the respective charging platforms and their affiliated networks.
Alberto Cantero, CEO of Wenea, expressed his satisfaction after signing the agreement “The alliance with Acciona Energía means advancing in simplifying our customers’ access to charging their electric vehicles. Through this collaboration, our customers will be able to access all charging stations through our platform.”
Strategic agreements for the real implementation of electric mobility in Spain
Active collaboration among the players in the electric mobility ecosystem is essential to make the electric vehicle usage experience simpler, more flexible, and consequently, more accessible. One of the objectives is to create strategic interoperability agreements (or Roaming) among charging point operators and other mobility service providers. This ensures that, regardless of your service provider, you can access a wide range of mobility-related services, particularly those related to charging your vehicle.
Cantero concludes “The coming years will be crucial in decarbonizing mobility. The electric car plays an essential role in this objective, and mobility operators and service providers must focus on making this transition easy for customers. The customer experience will be key in their decision to switch to electric, and we must do everything in our power to ensure an excellent charging experience.”
