Madrid, 10th August 2022 –Hesperia Group has signed a collaboration agreement with Wenea, the Spanish comprehensive electric vehicle charging service company, to deploy charging points in some of its urban and resort assets, all located in the country’s main tourist destinations.
The agreement includes the deployment of charging points in 14 establishments managed by Hesperia World, which have parking facilities on their premises. In the first phase, the deployment will begin at the five-star Hyatt Regency Barcelona Tower hotel located on Gran Vía de l’Hospitalet de Llobregat, with a charging station providing power up to 40 kW. Later on, the exclusive five-star Hyatt Regency Hesperia Madrid, located on the strategic Paseo de la Castellana in the capital, will also be included.
Additionally, other charging points will be implemented in more urban hotels of the group, such as Hesperia Sant Just and Hesperia Sant Joan in Barcelona, the group’s establishments in Galicia, the Basque Country, and Aragon, including Hesperia Vigo, Hesperia Bilbao, and Hesperia Zaragoza Centro, as well as Hesperia Córdoba and Hesperia Sevilla hotels in Andalusia, and Hesperia Ciudad de Mallorca. The agreement also includes the Príncipe Felipe Hotel at La Manga Club in the Region of Murcia and the vacation resorts managed under the AMResorts brands: Dreams Lanzarote Playa Dorada & Spa, Secrets Lanzarote Resort & Spa, and Secrets Mallorca Villamil Resort & Spa.
To access the charging points deployed in the hotels, users will need to download the Wenea mobile application, available for both Android and iOS. Through this app, drivers will have access to various functionalities such as a map where they can find the nearest charging stations and a route planner to determine their stops during their journeys. The application also allows users to check the charging status, review billing history, and monitor connector occupancy in real time.
