The agreement establishes that over 250 charging points will be deployed in more than 100 hotels across the region. The power capacities will vary depending on the type of parking. Capacities ranging from 7.4 to 22 kW will be provided for long-term parking for customers using hotel services, while higher power capacities, up to 300 kW, will be available for short-term parking targeting any electric vehicle driver, regardless of whether they are a hotel guest or not.
In the first phase, NH Hotel Group and Wenea aim to deploy charging points in over 50 establishments, installing more than 100 charging points. The initial hotels for deployment will be NH Collection Madrid Colón, NH Collection Madrid Eurobuilding, and NH Madrid Paseo de la Habana, with plans to continue deployment immediately in the rest of the hotels. Throughout the second quarter, deployments will continue in other hotels in Madrid and the Basque Country, and during the third quarter, in hotels in Barcelona, the Valencian Community, Andalusia, and Portugal.
The charging points deployed in the hotels will be available to any driver through the Wenea mobile app, which is compatible with all operating systems. Through this app, electric vehicle drivers can receive real-time information about the charging points, check the occupancy of each connector, monitor the status of their charging, or review their billing history. Furthermore, Wenea app users will be able to see NH’s charging points on the map, allowing them to locate new stations for their stops during trips or take advantage of the route planner, which indicates when they should stop to charge.
Alberto Cantero, CEO of Wenea, states, “Electric mobility is here to stay, and it is our commitment to facilitate its transition for all customers through agreements and partnerships with major companies like NH Hotel Group. This project allows us to add new destination charging points in the locations provided by NH, complementing our network of ultra-fast charging in interurban and urban environments and further developing our global business strategy.”
According to Jacobo Bello, Senior Operations Director of NH Hotel Group, “This initiative, aimed at strengthening our commitment to achieving an increasingly sustainable ecosystem, makes us extremely proud as it allows us to take care of our environment while continuing to offer our customers the best services and facilities.”
