Wenea to deploy 200 electric vehicle charging points in Seville

  • With the launch of these chargers, Wenea continues its expansion plan to fulfill its objective of enabling customers to charge wherever they need to.
  • The chargers will have power capacities ranging from 22 kW to 350 kW.
  • Seville will become the second city in Spain with the highest number of electric chargers, following Barcelona.

Seville, 11th November 2022 – Wenea, the company providing services for new electric vehicle customers, is set to deploy 200 charging points in the city of Seville. This 10-year concession, resulting from the decarbonization and climate change mitigation strategy of the City Council, will see Wenea installing chargers in each of the city’s eleven districts.

These locations will feature semi-fast chargers with a power capacity of 22 kW, fast chargers with 100 kW, and ultra-fast chargers with 350 kW, ensuring that at least one charger of each capacity is available in each district.

To use these 200 charging points, customers will need to download the Wenea mobile application, available for iOS and Android. Through the app, drivers will have access to Wenea’s charging point map and a route planner to organize their trips in advance. The application also allows users to check the charging status, monitor charger occupancy in real time, and review billing and recharge history.

Alberto Cantero, CEO of Wenea, says, “We are proud to participate in the announcement of this project in a city like Seville. Winning this tender means that we can continue to advance our commitment to enabling customers to charge whenever and wherever they need to. Andalusia, and therefore Seville, are of vital importance to us and a key region in expanding our network as part of our urban growth strategy.”
