MADRID, 27th June 2023
– Wenea, a Spanish company providing services for electric vehicle customers, offering intelligent charging solutions through its platform and extensive ultra-fast charging network, has partnered with Europcar, a leading brand in vehicle rental in Spain, to incentivize sustainable mobility among their customers.

Renting an electric vehicle becomes a gateway for drivers, with the assurance of having the widest coverage of public charging infrastructure, both in urban and interurban areas.

The entire process is carried out through the Wenea app, available for both Android and iOS. Europcar customers can download the app on their smartphones and register using the same email they used for their rental contract. From that moment on, they can access over 1,000 charging points throughout Spain, more than 70 in the United Kingdom, and 85,000 across the rest of Europe. They can plan their routes, check their charging history, and enjoy many other functionalities. The agreement also includes discounted charging prices for customers.

As highlighted by Felipe Díaz, Commercial Director for B2B in Spain, “Our goal is to establish ourselves as the leading platform in Spain for electric vehicle charging services, and in that sense, it is a privilege to add Europcar, a reference in the vehicle rental industry, as a new partner to accompany us in our business development. This strategic agreement will not only strengthen the recognition of our brand among Europcar’s most loyal customers but also drive the transition to sustainable mobility within this sector.”

On the other hand, Michel Kisfaludi, General Manager of Europcar Mobility Group in Spain and Portugal, explains that “this agreement between two market leaders will provide an additional incentive to encourage and normalize the use of electric vehicles and encourage customers to experience their benefits: ease of charging, increasing range, avoiding mobility restrictions, and savings on refueling.”
